Bbe Ds48 Software

Soundwebs, good for flexibility, not so great on sound quality (although iis version is better than original)My personal preference is the BSS 366 Omnidrive because it's 24/96 and has a much more flexible routing system than the XTA 226 etc. However, the new XTA 4 series is great, especially if you connect it to your laptop and control it with the Audiocore software. At the cheap end of the market, I actually quite like the old black Void Digidrives, the UI is identical to a BSS Minidrive and they sound fine. I also like the Berry Ultradrive (because it's a copy of my favourite Omnidrive but at an affordable price). I can't stand the Xilica units used for the later Void Digidrives, horrible UI but hopefully the more modern Xilica units are a bit nicer to use.bass.en.mass.

It seems to pretty universally carry a 'street price' of about $450I have removed BBE rack mount 'enhancers' from many club systems where I have been asked to come in and 'fix' the sound. They seem to be well built units, it's just that as used by inexperienced operators - read bartenders and entry level musicians - they nearly ALWAYS make the system sound worse than it does without them.If the build quality of the DSP is similar though, it could be a viable piece of gear.I just wonder whose digital technology they are using. I doubt that BBE has their own in house 'digital guys'.That's my 2 cents worth and I could be wrong except about the 'street price'Cheers,Gramps. Renard Hurtado wrote on Thu, 14 December 2006 10:48Hi there,Anyone has any experience with this BBE Ds-48 speaker management system?Renard HurtadoRenard,I recently installed a BBE DS24 in a local club.

It replaced an old Behringer analog crossover and a Behringer stereo compressor (which the club used as a 'volume control'). The speakers consist of a pair of Yamaha Club IV 2x15 tops and a pair of Club IV 2x18 subs, powered with a pair of QSC RMX 1450's bridged, one per top, and a QSC RMX 4050, stereo, on the subs. The system was in need of system alignment, as the left stack is situated about five feet forward of the right stack, as well as the normal crossover/limiting duties.

The DS24 met the club's limited budget(. I also own a BBE DS24 that I recently purchased for my system that I use for mobile band and DJ gigs.

I paid $199-new-including shipping from eBay. Which seems to be a steal!

I agree that the software takes some getting used to. The software is very nice because it gives you visualizations of everything. Editing the programs right on the hardware is easier than doing on the computer,at first, so that is very nice. Once you know the flow of menus on the machine it is very easy to edit on the fly. The only thing I wish is that you could edit which outputs get which input signal easier. When you tell the program that you want a 2-way mono sub setup it automatically makes outputs 1 and 3 the summed outputs. This isn't a huge problem but I was used to having outputs 1 and 2 as the Left and Right Highs. In all, I believe this is a great piece of equipment for people who are on a budget and want a very functional and reliable piece of equipment.

I think the price to performance ratio helps a lot with this piece of equipment. Hope this helps!Phil Lewandowski.
